Books that stand up.

Albion Business and Financial Services is a Jamaican accounting practice. We keep the books, file the returns and close the year for small and growing businesses — and when the records are incomplete, we rebuild them until they are defensible.

/ What we do

The whole cycle — not just the parts that are easy.

Most practices will take your bookkeeping. Fewer will take the year that was never written up, the GCT that has not been filed since the business started, or the ledger that exists only as a shoebox and a bank statement. We take those too.

/ 01

Bookkeeping & monthly close

The ordinary discipline, done on time, every month — so the year-end is a formality instead of an emergency.

  • Purchases, sales, bank and cash posted monthly
  • Bank and control-account reconciliations
  • Accounts payable and receivable ageing
  • QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or a clean Excel system we build for you
/ 02

Statutory & tax filing

Returns prepared and filed to the deadline, to TAJ, the Companies Office and the Department of Co-operatives.

  • GCT returns
  • Payroll statutory — PAYE, NIS, NHT, Education Tax, HEART
  • Annual employer returns — S01, S02, P45
  • Income tax — IT01 and IT02 · asset tax
  • COJ annual returns and company filings
/ 03

Year-end & financial statements

Audit-ready accounts your bank, your auditor and the Tax Administration can all read without argument.

  • Financial statements under IFRS and IFRS for SMEs
  • Working papers and schedules that support every figure
  • Prepared to go straight to an external reviewer
/ 04

Management accounts

The monthly numbers an owner actually runs on, rather than a set of accounts that arrives eleven months late.

  • Monthly and interim statements
  • Budgets, cost control and variance reporting
  • Bespoke Excel reporting — including multi-currency daily sales reconciliation
/ 05

Payroll

Run on Brawta — the statutory payroll software this practice built, because nothing on the market got the Jamaican maths right.

  • Payslips, and the statutory deductions behind them
  • S01, S02 and P45 upload files for the TAJ portal
  • Set your own team up on it, or let us run it for you
/ 06

Advisory & modelling

For the decisions that come before the accounting — pricing, borrowing, expanding, or whether a venture holds together at all.

  • Financial modelling and valuation (FMVA®)
  • Cash-flow forecasting
  • Going-concern and viability review
  • Loan and grant application support
/ Incomplete records

If the books don't exist yet, that is the job.

A bank asks for three years of statements. A loan application needs financials. A letter arrives from Tax Administration Jamaica. And the business has been running on cash, memory and a drawer full of receipts — which is normal here, and is not a reason to be turned away.

We have rebuilt multi-year invoicing and ledger histories from fragmentary records — hundreds of months of transactions — reconstructed from bank statements, receipt books and whatever else survived, into an audit trail that stands up to outside review. It is slow, methodical work. It is also the work that gets a business bankable.

/ Who you deal with

One accountant. Eighteen years of him.

You are not handed to a junior. The person who meets you is the person who does the work: Charlton Chutckhan, principal of the practice and founder of RKhan Investment Limited.

Twelve of those years were at the Urban Development Corporation, ending as Senior Accountant owning a three-day month-end close over J$10 billion in managed funds and reviewing two colleagues' output through every cycle. The rest has been spent on Jamaican small business — which is a different discipline, and the one this practice is built for.
